A Very Special Thank You!
Who We Are
The Jesse Greise Foundation began in July 2004, in Omaha, Nebraska. It is named for a strong, vibrant young man named Jesse P. Greise who passed away at the tender age of 21 in a kayaking accident. He was a Junior in college studying Environmental Science. Jesse was loved by all and had a tremendous faith in God which he displayed through an ability to see the good in everyone.
Jesse lived life in high gear. The great outdoors was his passion. He had a great understanding for nature and an appreciation for it. He was unstoppable in everything he did - whether being on the wrestling mat as a three time state finalist and one time state champion or being out in nature hunting and fishing where he also found great success - he gave his all and invited all around to share those joys. All of his achievements were spawned as a child and they instilled strong values in his life. He chose to share those values every day with all that crossed his path. He would extend a hand like he would cast a line, with great enthusiasm and desire to embrace the fullness of life that God had provided him. He was a "fisher of men".
The river became his vessel to that final retreat. And now he has passed the baton to us to carry on his life of love and compassion in this world - never to walk by with out casting that line to help others. Planting those seeds in our youth; seeds of love, compassion, and thirst for knowledge. Showing them that the beauty of this world is in the skies and on the earth not in any addictions that are around us. For Jesse, a man's strength was not measured by his fist by by his embrace.
Funds that are donated to this non-profit organization will be used to help children by providing scholarships, introductions to the stars, the weather, the environment and sports. All to spark interest for future carreers as well as providing resources and avenues to achieve them. As Jesse never set boundries in his love and compassion, neither will his organization. If there is a need, we will extend a hand. Our overall objective is to mold fine young adults with strong values and the desire to achieve. To this end, a merit system of community service would be put in place to earn day trips to area lakes and parks for hands-on outdoor experiences that are sparked through those introductions.
